Pointing Fingers

People please before you believe everything you hear on the news do some research and check it out before you start bitching how everything is Bush’s fault.

According to the major of New Orleans, Bush called and asked if federal help was needed. At the beginning, Major Nagin said no. When things started to get worse the governor of LA stepped in and once again Bush asked if they needed help. The governor said no. When Bush went down to survey the damage he had a meeting with the governor and Mayor Nagin and told them that he was ready to deploy troops that day if they wanted, but the governor said she needed 24 hours to make a decision. According to law, the federal government cannot step in unless requested by the state. The media is making it seem like it was the federal government’s fault when in fact if you really want to be pointing fingers you should be pointing at the governor (who a democrat). You can view Major Nagin’s video interview on CNN.com. In it he clearly states that Bush acted as quickly as possible, prior to having his two requests to help rebuffed by the governor.

But really we shouldn’t be putting the blame on anyone. We need to stop playing the blame game and get to work and help these people out.

Ok, I’m done ranting today. I am sick and just want to lay down.

One major thing I’ve learned since my brother joined up is never to listen to anything said on the news about anything military/disaster related. The news stations are usually the ones responsible for spreading false rumors.
