Saturday night I watched two horror movies, Dead Meat and Hellraiser 7: Deader. My question to you dear readers is what the hell happened to the Hellraiser series??? The first two where classic and the third wasn’t bad but after that they started to declined and get worse after each movie. The Hellraiser movies have always had a bit more sex in them but now they have pretty much become soft porn with a little horror throw in. Pinhead and the cenobites are only in the movie for about 10 minutes and they have seemed to have lost their passion to distribute pain like in the old days. They are just not scary anymore. It’s very sad. Mike asked me why I keep watching them since I know they are not going to be any good. I told him that being a horror movie fan you watch a lot of shitty ass movies in order to find one classic gem. Your pretty much on a hunt for some great horror movie. But they are becoming a dying breed and that really is a shame. But one of the few newer horror movies that I think will become a classic for sure is Shaun of the Dead. A great rom zom com! Simon Pegg is absolutely wonderful!

September 19, 2005 at 2:10 pmAs a diehard horror movie fan, I can definitely say the fact that you have to watch a lot of crappy horror movies before finding a great one is true!
Try watching some of the older ones.. try Nosferatu, it was made in 1922, but it’s still pretty good. Also the original 1953 version of House of Wax with Vincent Price.

October 4, 2005 at 11:15 amDid you even read my post? I said that I love the first 3 hellraisers but after that they all went down hill. And Shaun of the Dead is regarded as a great horror movie by The Masters of Horror (George A. Romero, John Carpenter, Wes Craven). And George A. Romero was so impressed with Simon Pegg and Edger Wright’s movie (Shaun of the Dead) that he gave them a cameo in the 4th installment of his classic Dead series (Land of the Dead). And most classic horror movies have dark comedy in them (The Evil Dead Trilogy, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th all of some humor in them). And yes I can be a horror fan and not enjoy the newer Hellraisers cause they just suck. Even Clive Barker said that after the 3rd installment they where getting pretty lame. And I love the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series. But you have to admit they too have gone down hill from the original. Even though I thought Freddy VS Jason was enjoyable. And why is it that I have to like the same shitty ass horror movies as you do to be considered a true die hard horror fan? That’s just bullshit. I could say that you can’t be a true horror fan if you like the newer hellraisers (since they totally make Pinhead and the cenobites seem like pussies). I am a die hard true and blue 100% horror movie fan weither you think it or not.
Anywho, Thanks so much for commenting and I hope you will return.
