If Today’s Children are our Future then we are in Big Trouble!

Have any of you ever watched that tv show on MTV called My Sweet Sixteen or something like that? I absolutely hate that show! I just want to smack those brats right across their snotty faces! They are always a bunch of drama queen bitches that say how much they hate their parents (even though it’s the parents who is paying for their undeserved party). Their mom and dad need to get off their butts and be parents and bend those kids over their knee and beat their ass ! Why in the world would these parents let their children act like that? The kids do not outgrow their “I’m better then you” attitudes and Paris Hilton is proof of that! Just cause you’re rich doesn’t mean you have to act like that. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are two of the richest young women and ,unlike the Hilton Sisters, they act very well mannered. I guess it all goes back to parenting. When you become parents you are judged on how well your kids turn out. And when they leave the nest you want them (or at least you should want them) to be productive members of society. But that seems to have gone out with poodle skirts and sock hops. And it really is a shame cause children are our future and I know I am not looking forward to a future with thousands of Tara Reids running around . God help us all.

Sad that you hold a entire generation to one television show that is meant to show bratty kids. When I think of our youth, I think of the thousands of men and women in Iraq that are putting their lives on the line, despite the fact they know they are fighting because of lies. They signed up and they are serving bravely. I also think of all the young people that were in New Orleans saving people who were stranded in their homes.
I would not ever think that MTV’s Sweet 16 gives us an honest representation of America’s youth with they are only showing the elitist crowd. Last I checked, most Americans are struggling to get by…far from what MTV shows.

You make some good points in your comment Angel. But I never said I hold the entire generation on what I see on MTV (I even stated in my post how Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen act like respectable young women). It was a rant. And you have to admit that now a days teenagers act more like what you see on MTV and other reality shows then how they should act (regardless of whether they have money or not). And I stand behind our brave soldiers 110% that are fighting in Iraq (not because of lies but for the betterment of the entire world).

    Thanks for commenting.
