Here We Go Again

I have notice that my post “Freedom of Religion, unless it’s Christianity” has generated a lot of hits and linking by Leftist bloggers and they seem very upset by the whole thing. Going as far as saying that the Christian Right is nutty and ignorant. They are calling the Christian Right nutty and ignorant for believing that groups like the ALCU are trying to dissolve Christ from Christmas which if you would turn away from the mainstream media you would be able to see why some have come to think that. We’re nutty and ignorant for believing that but their not nutty and ignorant for, after 5 years, still ranting that Bush stole the election? Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black. Quite of few of these bloggers even said we need should shut up and stop posting that shit. I guess free speech only applies if you agree with them. But I’m sorry, really I am cause I was under the impression that this was My blog located on the domain that I pay for with My money therefore I could post anything I wanted as long as it isn’t illegal. Guess I was mistaken.

I can’t seem to run across any that told you to “shut up”. You expressed an opinion…others replied to that opinion.

Interesting thing about free speech…it applies to everybody….even toward those who might think your opinion is a stupid one.

That’s right free speech does apply to everyone but I have not once told them to shut up just cause I disgree with them like they have done. And they did not specifically tell me to shut up they would say the Christian Right, which I am in that group.

As far as I can tell from following the news the only people who are up in arms about “The war on Christmas” is Bill O’Reilly et al. The only war on Christmas is that of corporate america placing restrictions on employee free speech which arises from the employment contract. If you have a problem with that write to the companies (Target, WalMart etc) to express your viewpoint. Better yet write your winger congressman and ask him to sponsor a bill extending free speech to the workplace.

Nobody from the ACLU or the Democratic party is attacking your right to pratice your faith in the public square or in your home with your loved ones. The only limitation that the constitution places on religious expression is that of the state (Frderal, state, County or local levels) establishing an official state sponsored religion. There is no war on Christianity in the US. Its what they call a cognitive distortion. The ACLU and the Democratic Party are the organizations that will stand up to defend your right to religious expression.

The Republican Party is the real enemy of your religious and civil liberties not the ACLU or Democratic Party.
