Today was a pretty lazy day. Raven and I walked down to my Mom and Nan’s house to have Sunday dinner. But we made a detour down through the tracks to the pond to let two snails that Raven brought home from my Dad’s when she was visiting him and my step-mom lose. While walking down the tracks, which have become muddy and torn up from all the damn four wheeler riders, we found this strange bug. Now it is not uncommon to see weird looking bugs here in West Virginia since it is still a very wooded state, which is wonderful, but this is one like I have never seen before. So of course I got my camera out and snapped some shots of it.
The little bug didn’t seem to mind us being there one bit and when we left I had to move the branch so we could continue to the pond and the little bug just hung onto the leaf and was still there when we came walking back.

Raven also picked a few blackberries and raspberries while at the pond which she brought back for my Mom and Nan to eat.

The berries don’t seem to be doing that good this year.

And here is a shot of the pond.

After we ate dinner with my Mom, Raven went outside and climb trees in her Naruto, which is a cartoon on Cartoon Network, headband that she bought.

Raven and I then went outside and messed with a spider that had decided to make a home on one of my Mom’s flowers. We bothered it until it came after us and then we decided it would be best to just leave it alone.

All in all it was a good day.

July 9, 2007 at 9:13 pmWhat a beautiful pond you have in your backyard (or at least, NEAR your backyard). And that bug is actually kind of cute, which is something I don’t think I’ve ever said about a bug. But it’s true.
