The Demon Barber

Two famous people that I absolutely love is Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. And when they join forces, which they have done five times before, you know you are in for a beautiful and entertaining piece of cinema. So of course I am extremely looking forward to their six collaboration entitled Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street that is due out in theaters Christmas day.

The movie is based on the hit Broadway musical that is based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd. In the film Johnny Depp plays Benjamin Barker a barber who is married with a daughter and living a happy, simple life until a cruel Judge has Benjamin deported to Australia. Years later, a vengeful Benjamin is finally able to return to his home in England but only under the pseudonym know as Sweeney Todd. Who reeks havoc and terror on the society that took everything away from him.

You can rest assure that this movie will be bloody entertaining!

I really do not know if I can wait until Christmas day to see this movie so to tide me over a bit until I am finally able to lay my eyes on it I have been scowling the internet finding anything out that I can about the film. So the first thing I did was visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site where I watched the trailer (the costumes are absolutely beautiful), listened to the haunting soundtrack and download some goodies. Then I headed on over to myspace and added them to my friends list. You too can visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace and add them to your friends. Cause you can never have too many friends on myspace, right.

I saw the preview for Sweeny Todd a few weeks ago. I have read the true story (which varies a little from the play) and was fascinated by it. I am so glad that they cast Johnny Depp. He’s such a versatile actor and he looks perfect for the part.
I’m hoping to go to the theater to see it when it comes out.
