Well, this summer has been flying by! Raven has to go back to school on August 19. Which sucks. She just got out on June 3 and had just a little over 2 months for a summer break. They have to go back so early because of all the snow days. This actually does not make since to me because she missed the snow days when she was in 7th grade but will be making them up in 8th grade. The school board actually does not care about the kids learning they just want them in school for a certain amount of days. I remember when I was in elementary and middle school we got out at the end of May and did not have to go back until the end of August / beginning of September.
Oh well. Not much I can do about it.
We are trying to plan a vacation at the end of July. We would like to go to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in Virginia. First, we have to put new breaks and tires on the SUV. In anticipation for the trip, I bought a bathing suit (2 tops and 1 bottom) and a pair of short-shorts. This will be the first time since I was like 10 years old that I would be wearing a bathing suit without wearing a shirt to cover myself up. I am a little nervous about it though. I do not have a nice body but I did lose about 70 pounds and am more comfortable with the way I look now than I have been in the past. Therefore, I said what the hell. I want to go to a water park and have fun. And I cannot do that if I am self-conscious about my body. So, I will be taking pictures of myself in the bathing suits and posting them for you all to see. That is my first step in preparing myself. So be on the lookout for that upcoming post and pictures.

Our school system is the same way. The number of days matter more than the quality of the learning. They even took away our snow days just so the teachers could go to sports games without having to hire Subs. Quite ridiculous really.
Congratulations on the weight loss, how have you been doing recently? I look forward to photos :D.

Our schools are the exact same these days, it’s all about whether you’re there rather then the quality of the teaching / learning. Congratulations on the weight loss as well, it definitely gives you a boost when you notice the difference!

I believe it’s a law or whatever that schools have to be in an X amount of days or whatever. However, I don’t see how making it up the following year would help the past year. That would be adding on to the next year. Hopefully, with her starting earlier this year she will get out sooner. I don’t know, school systems are strange.
Congratulations on the weight loss. 70lbs is great! Hearing everyone talk about weight loss and how they’ve been successful is so motivating to me. I’d like to lose weight and I have lost weight over the years, but I’ve kind of stopped for about a year now and maintained and haven’t been successful at starting again. I hope to change that soon.

First of all, congrats on your weight loss! That is amazing. I have lost 62lbs (and counting) and I can’t wait until I am comfortable enough to buy a 2 piece bathing suit. 😀
