Christmas 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a pretty darn good one. Raven got various Xbox One and Xbox 360 games, the season pass for Fallout 4, a record player, an action figure from Alien, two Fallout shirts and various odds and ends. Mike got a new jacket, Rainbow Six Siege for the Xbox One, Ancestry DNA kit and some stocking stuffers. I got a Kaylee Frye messenger bag, Browncoat socks, Leaf on the Wind necklace and 4 Disney hairbows (Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and Evil Queen from Snow White). Jedi got catnip bacon, toast and egg, Nefarian got a new catnip kiss and Widget got 2 new feathered mice.

The day before Christmas was spent running around getting last minute shopping done and then spending several hours in the kitchen cooking and baking for the get-together at my father-in-law’s that night. The next afternoon (Christmas afternoon to be exact) was spend at my sister-in-law’s. Both days were filled with good food and even better people.

How did you spend your holiday?

I’m inclined to say Raven made out like a bandit, but I think you won the jackpot there. That necklace is boss. And Jedi’s toys are just too cute for words.

Christmas eve we were at a holiday party thrown by my “Ohio mother”, and the kid zonked out at 10 PM. She starts the night in her room and navigates to mine eventually. I set the alarm for 4:30 AM, well past the time she normally comes in, so I could set out the presents after she’d made her migration. She wasn’t there by 4:30, so I snoozed the alarm and went back to sleep. Well, not snoozed, cancelled. I woke up at 9 AM, a mere 20 minutes before kiddo woke up, and rushed to get all of the gifts under the tree.

I was sitting in the bathroom when a giant Olaf the Snowman, as tall as kiddo, peeked in and told me “Merry Christmas”. It was a great start to the morning and a great morning overall. Kiddo spent the afternoon at her Nana’s and had tons of fun there, too.
