Hey y’all! I’m Manda, a small business owner, beekeeper, and proud cat lady living in the hills of West Virginia. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and I’ve been writing professionally since 2002. I’ve actually been around the blogging world even longer than that. I’m a big fan of horror movies and delightfully unhinged British comedies. I’m also a bit of a homebody, perfectly content hanging out with my cats and enjoying a little peace and quiet.
MandaSue.com is my own little corner of the internet where I can ramble about whatever happens to cross my mind. Some days that might be a trip down memory lane, other days a random observation, an opinion, something that made me laugh, or something that got under my skin. There’s no particular niche here, no grand plan, and certainly no promise that I’ll stay on topic. Just me, sharing bits and pieces of life, things I enjoy, and whatever else I feel like writing about. If you’ve missed the days when blogs were personal, a little unpredictable, and written by actual people just being themselves, you might feel right at home here.
Domain
I started blogging way back in late 1999 on DeadJournal and LiveJournal. Safe to say, I was instantly hooked. A few years later while we were planning our wedding, I built a site on Bravenet to share updates with guests. That site naturally evolved into a family blog after we tied the knot.
Like many bloggers at that time, I jumped on the self-hosted WordPress bandwagon, purchasing my very first domain, 4everlasting.com, in mid-2003. Over the years, however, I tried out a few different web addresses, including offwithherhead.org in 2009, searching for the perfect fit.
But in late 2013, I decided it was time for a space that felt truly, authentically me. Enter mandasue.com, my permanent home on the web for all things personal.
