Yuck!

For dinner today Mike decided he was going to cook pork chops (to give me a break from cooking). So he fixes 6 pork chops (2 for himself, 2 for me and 2 for Raven) and some broccoli. While he was fixing the food, I was watching Raven play a game on the XBox and periodically yelling at her to “Run to the Right, Jump, Run Run Run!”. Mike called to us that it was ready and I brought Raven her plate and then went back into the kitchen and picked up one of the pork chops and flopped it down on my plate and went back into the living room to eat the delicious meal. After an undetermined amount of time I finished my first pork chop and went back into the kitchen to get my 2nd one. Same as before, but this time after about the second bite I noticed a little brown looking thing on the other end of the pork chop. I proceeded to bring it up towards my face for closer inspection. After a second or two the horror of what it was sunk in. I can only imagine the expression on my face. It was a SPIDER! I thought for sure the first pork chop I ate was going to end up all over the floor but I held it back and showed Mike and Raven. Mike throw the rest of my pork chop away and offered me the rest of his. I thankfully declined. I did not want anymore pork chops for today. The only thing we could figure was that the spider had either crawled into the pan before cooking or fallen into it after. If it was any other insect it wouldn’t have been that bad. But not a spider, I hate spiders!

Fixing the Hole in my Head

Well, I posted my site on a few review sites and have gotten a better response then what I though I would get. It seems my side bar movies all the way down the page in any other browser besides IE. So I am trying to fix that problem so no matter what browser you use everything should look fine.

Ok, now on too non website stuff. Mike called Lowes yesterday morning to get the break down on the estimate of the fence. The Materials will cost $1,525.51 and the Labor would be $1,801.49. None of us thought it would be that much for labor and materials so I am not sure what we are going to do.

Today I think me and Mike are going to go to Walmart to get Raven’s birthday cake and her presents since we are going to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. Mike was going to take Raven fishing tomorrow for her birthday but it looks as if it is going to be cold and wet.

Trying to Live My Life

We decided to go ahead and give Raven her two birthday presents when she came home today. A wireless controller for the XBox and a “Family 10 game center”. Then we took her to the mall to let her pick out the Sonic The Hedgehog t-shirt that they had at Hot Topic (she likes Sonic). While we where there I was looking at the clothing and the clearance. Nothing on clearance that I could fit into and I started to feel a little depressed. No, XL shirts or size 13 or 15 pants. It seems like they never have those sizes on clearances. Always sizes x-small and size 0, 1, 5 pants. But then I started thinking. What do they put on clearance? The left over clothing that they are trying to get rid of. So if they don’t have the sizes that I fit in too and only have the smaller sizes then that would lead one to believe that the sizes I wear fly off the shelves more then the size 0’s. That made me feel a little better. But then I looked at the cute little lingerie things they have at Hot Topic and so wished I could have some. I wish I had the money to get some. I also wish I could fit into them. Well actually I can fit into them but I don’t look good in them and what’s the sense of wasting money on something that you look disgusting in? 🙁

Happy 8th Birhday, Raven!

Well, today is Raven’s 8th birthday, For school instead of bring cupcakes for all the kids she wanted to bring cosmic brownies (there made by little debbie). So Mike got her 4 boxes so she can take them to school. We are going to wait to celebrate her birthday on Saturday. It’s just so much easier to do it if she doesn’t have school the next day.

Mike went fishing last night by himself, cause he couldn’t get any of his so called friends to go and I couldn’t go cause Raven had school today (he stays out late catfishing).

I really need to go out back and clean up all the crap that the previous owners threw back there. There is glass and rusted metal things and all kinds of other crap back there. We don’t let Raven go down there. But I need to get it done before we get the fence installed cause I don’t want London going back there and cutting his little paws.

You’ve got to be kidding me?!

Ok, well we took Raven out to eat for her birthday and when we came home (at about 6:30 pm) We seen that Lowes had left a voice mail. They gave us the quote on the fencing. It was for $3,325. WOW! None of us where expecting it to be that much. Tomorrow we are going to call Lowes and find out all the details. I called my Dad and told him. We are looking into some other options. Like doing it ourselves. We will just have to wait and see.

Waiting . . .

Well, the fence guy came about an hour ago to get the measurements. We thought he would be here sometime before 1pm but he didn’t get her until 4pm and he didn’t even have any paper or a writing utensil to keep track of the measurements of our yard. Very professional. He just guesstimated, he did not measure. It took him at most 10 minutes. We’ll see how much he estimates it’s going to cost.

Groovy

Well, today we got a call from the company that Lowes is sending out to measure our yard for the fence. We made an appointment for them to come out tomorrow and do all the measurements. And then they will get back to us with the estimate.

Raven had her 2nd soccer practice today for the Spring season. They will have another one on Thursday. Her 8th Birthday is on Wednesday but we are going to wait to celebrate it this weekend. We aren’t going to have a party for her like every other year. Just a cake, her presents and then I think we are going to take her fishing. She really likes fishing and has been trying to get Mike to take her since the weather has gotten warmer.

My ankle feels better today. It is all swollen and bruised up though.

Not Again

I was trying to fill in some of those holes (from where we pulled out the fence posts yesterday) and ,long story short, I fell against the house, ripped the leg/upper butt check part of my pants and twisted my ankle. My ankle is swollen and I have scraps and scratches on my right butt check. I am such a klutz!

Always Something

Well, Yesterday my Dad, Julia (step mom) and Alex (step brother) come out to visit us for the day. And Dad and Julia said that they are getting us a fence for my birthday. Great! I have been waiting one for awhile. It will keep London and Raven in the yard and keep everything and everyone else out. So we go to Lowes and Dad talks to the guy about them installing it and the guy is going to have someone come out by Wednesday to measure everything and then he will call us and let us know what the estimate is. Ok cool.

So we go home to pull out the posts that have been there for God knows how long (they where there when we bought the house almost 5 years). So everything is going pretty good and then the battery in the truck died and wouldn’t start. It needed a new battery anyway so Mike and Alex’s went to Walmart and picked up the new battery and my Dad put it in and we started pulling out posts again.

Everything went pretty smoothly until we came to the last fence post. We pull it out and after a few second we could smell gas. I got down on my knees and smelled down in the hole and I could hear and smell the gas so I tell my Dad and we call the gas company and about 3 hours later (10:30 pm) they send someone out. The Gas guy was really nice. Explained how he isn’t from around here. He does the Fairmont route and had to come here cause they couldn’t get a hold of the guy who does the Clarksburg/Shinnston route. He checked the pipe and at first said it was just the threads leaking and then he found another little hole but he said that we did not cause it, that the leak was all ready there and that we just uncovered it. But he said that we will have to replace the whole main line from the road to our meter. We have to buy the materials and dig the thing and put it in ourselves. He said the pipes where probably 50 years old or more. The guy taped it up good and filled it in. See, we share a main line with our neighbors. The main line runs about 8 inches from the property line on our side. Then it comes to a V and splits off to our meter and the neighbors meter and then a pipe runs from our meter to our house. So the pipe that is leaking (the main line) does not effect our meter (meaning if there is a leak it does not raise our gas bill). I sure don’t see why we have to pay for the pipe and put it in. I was always told you only have to pay for any repairs if it is from your meter to your house. I am sure I am going to be arguing with the gas company.

Well Hello Mister Fancy Pants

We got a call from Raven’s new soccer coach last night. Her first practice is tonight at 6pm. Raven is excited. She has been waiting for the season to start since the fall season ended. This will be her 3rd season playing.

I watched the Today Show this morning. I sat through that crap for 3 hours waiting to see Raven’s teacher who was suppose to be on there and I didn’t see her at all. I watched it for nothing :ugh:

The new layout for my site is up. Hope everyone likes it. Don’t know how long this one will last. I really need to get off this computer and finish cleaning. I think I will do that right now.
