Yesterday was my long day at work. I didn’t clock out until 6:30pm and got home about 10 minutes later. When I got home, I took off my coat chatted to Mike a few and asked Raven how school was. She gave her usual ho hum answer of “fine”. I was just about ready to change out of my scrubs when Raven said “Mommy, when I was in gym today I hurt my finger really bad when I was trying to catch the volley ball”. She held up her hand and her ring finger, right above the knuckle, was bruised and swollen pretty bad. She said she was in pain. When asked why she didn’t tell her gym teacher, this is how the conversation went:

Raven: “All three fingers hurt and I thought it would have to be one heck of a coincidence that I really hurt them all so I didn’t think it was a big deal. But then in 7th period this finger (holding up the blue and swollen one) was still hurting.”

Me: “Why didn’t you tell Daddy when you got home from school?”

Raven: “I thought you got home a little after I did and I was going to tell you and Daddy together then when Daddy told me you didn’t get home until later on tonight, I was playing on the computer and I forgot.”

Yep, she forgot, Anywho, I took her to medbrook and they x-rayed her finger and found that she did not break it but she did tear some ligaments And it will take about 3 to 4 weeks to heal.

I have notice a lot of blogs have been posting a recap of 2008. You will not be seeing something like that on this site of mine, no you won’t. It’s not cause I have something against the whole recapping thing, actually I think it is a pretty cool idea. It’s just that 2008 (well, actually since October 2006) has been full of heartache, disappointment and depression and I just don’t want to rehash everything over again. Trying to make sure the past stays in the past is hard enough in my everyday life without me having to bring all those horrible memories and feelings back up. The wounds are still sore and healing, slowly but they seem to be healing all the same, and I don’t want to pick at those wounds and start the bleeding all over again. I am not going to go through what all had happened and you won’t find any of it on my blog. I have kept the details of what went on to myself (and the involved parties) except for one close friend (and she doesn’t know the whole story, about what went on from January 2008 to June 2008) and I want to keep it that way.

Here’s to hoping 2009 is a hell of a lot better then 2008 (and 2007 and 2006).

Well, today was a pretty uneventful day. Woke up this morning, took Raven down to my Mom and Nan’s so she could stay the night, went to Blockbusters and rented 2 movies, went through Starbucks drive thru and got a white chocolate mocha (yum) and then drove home. Then later on tonight Mike and I went to Walmart, Sam’s Club and The Pet Place with Mike’s cousin Dereck. The rest of the day has been spent lounging around the house and playing WOW.

I am loving my new cell phone though. I went with Verizon and got the LG Chocolate 3. I have been getting a lot of use out of the camera part of my phone. I have been taking pictures with it like crazy.

Last night at about a little after 10 pm I ran up to walmart to get the WOW expansion Wrath of the Lich King. I was just gonna wait a few more days or possibly weeks to buy the Lich King but I was told by certain people that the Lich King expansion alimented the level requirements on your professions. I am at level 30 but my tailoring is stuck at 225 until I hit level 35. Well, I ran up to walmart at a little after 10pm and bought the expansion and a few other odds and ins. Came back home installed the DVD, downloaded updates, installed the updates and guess what. The Lich King expansion did not get rid of the level requirements. 🙁

Happy New Years everyone! I hope y’all had a wonderful and safe new years. Mike and I went out to eat at Chili’s with his cousin Dereck and his wife Alana. Then came back home played WOW, watched the ball dropped and went to bed. Yeah. Exciting. But it was enjoyable.

Also, I got a new cell phone Tuesday night. I went with Verizon and got the Chocolate 3 in Black. So far I am loving it. If anyone wants my new number leave a comment and I might just give it to ya!

Well, my Christmas was pretty dog gone good. On Christmas Eve we went down to Mike’s grandfather house. We were able to hang out and bull shit with Donielle and Eric who came in from VA for the Holidays. It’s always good to be around them cause we always seem to have a great time. After we left Grandpa’s, Donielle and Eric came back home with us to play a little Guitar Hero which I think we all had a blast doing that.

On Christmas morning Raven opened up all her gifts and I am pretty sure she is happy with them. She got most of the stuff she had on her Christmas list (I would say about 96%).

After she got everything unwrapped and played with a little we got dressed and went to my Aunt’s house for lunch.

Later on that night Donielle and Eric came over to play some more Guitar Hero.

I have been neglecting my blog like crazy lately. Just with work, the holidays and everyday life, I just don’t have the time or the desire to blog like a did a year ago. So I either have to make myself get back into the habit of blogging regularly or I need to give up the domain cause there is no since in paying the hosting if I am not going to use it. So over the next few weeks I will see how I do with updating.

It’s been almost a month since I last posted. I know, I know . . . Bad Manda. But I have been really busy. I started my new job on October 21 and I love it. I love what I do, I love my co-workers and I love the pay rate. I am hoping that my life will do something that it has never done before and give me a break and let me stay working for the doctor’s office that I am currently working for. I am only suppose to be there for 4 to 6 weeks but I am really really truly wanting to stay on there. It’s the best place I have worked so far and I will miss the people that I work with so much.

Saturday I took Raven to Toys R Us for the bakugan torunment that they were having. She played 2 games and didn’t win any of them but she had lots of fun. Bakugan is on here list of items she wants for Christmas and of course they are sol out just about every where, even online stores are sold out of them. So Ebay, here I come.

Last night Mike, Raven and myself went up to Pennsylvania to Fright Farm. We had a great time. It took about an hour to get up there. We left at about 6:20pm and didn’t get home until almost Midnight. We had a blast! Raven had a great time. She was pretty much a target for all the “actors” that where trying to scare everyone since she is so young. But she wasn’t scared at all. She really enjoyed herself as did Mike and I.

Tuesday I start my new job. I have never worked in the medical field before. I just hope I do a good job and don’t mess up to bad. Cross your fingers for me.

So, I have finally have a new job! Yeah! It’s only a temporary job that will last about 6 to 8 weeks. But it will give me some extra experience in the office field. I am going to be working as a receptionist in a doctor’s office. I start Tuesday October 21. I am looking forward to it but I need to go out and buy some scrubs cause I don’t have any.
