Five On Friday – Hand Me Down

1. Have you ever worn hand-me-downs? Who did you get them from?
Actually I didn’t wear hand me downs. The reason being is that I was an only child and all the other children in my family around my age where all boys.

2. Have you ever given hand-me-downs? Who did you give them to?
Yes. We usually give Raven’s old cloths to my cousin’s daughters.

3. How do you feel about hand-me-downs in general? Do you like the idea of recycling things or does it bother you to have something used?
I think it is a great idea. We have some extremely pretty dresses that Raven only wore once or twice and they are in like new condition. Why just keep it in the closet when someone else could be enjoying it.

4. Do you ever visit yard sales? (maybe you call them garage sales, tag sales, junk sales, etc…)
I love yard sales and flea markets! All three of us do.

5. If given $25,000 to buy furniture and decorate your home, would you buy new pieces or antiques? Why?
I would buy what ever we liked. It could be a mixture of new and used items.

Manic Monday

What is your least favorite day of the week and why?
I would have to say Sunday because it just feels like blah and there is never anything on during the day.

What’s the best way to end the day?
The best way to end the day is happy and content.

Which animal would you have left out of the ark?
I don’t think I would of left any animal out of the ark.

Kids Being Naughty? Just Call 555-Santa

Whenever it would get close to Christmas and Raven would start to not listen or get mouthy I would threaten her with if she didn’t behave I was going to give Santa Clause a call. Cause Santa gave out his private home phone number to all the parents to call if their children were being naughty.

One day Raven was being particularly mouthy and said she didn’t believe that I knew the number. When I told her I did, she asked me what the number was. Cause as she put it, if I really knew it I could tell her. So without thinking I blurted out 555-SANTA. And after a few seconds of her scanning over my face for any hints that I may be lying, she bought it and started listening better . . . just for that day of course. Thank God she never tried calling it.

Unfortunately for the hubby and I she now knows the truth about Santa and I can not use that tactic with her anymore. Cause for some reason she has has the idea that a big fat jolly guy might not bring her presents if she’s naughty but her mom and dad will.

See Ya In A Week

Tomorrow Raven and I will be staying with my Mom and Nan for a week, until next Sunday the 27th. And since my mom doesn’t have internet access let alone a computer at her house I will be away from the web for a whole week. Yeah. I figure I should start going through withdraw around early Tuesday morning.

Raven and I will both have our cameras so maybe I can get some good shots.

So I will see y’all next Sunday!

Naruto Summing Jutsu

One of the things that Raven got for Christmas was a blue (her favorite color) Olympus 7 megapixel digital camera that features a movie mode. So as expected she has been snapping photos and shooting videos like there’s no tomorrow. And since she absolutely loves Naruto and knows all the Jutsus, it was only a matter of time before she video taped herself performing one. And last weekend was that time. While she stayed the night with my mom she decided to go ahead and record herself.

So here you go. Raven preforming a Summing Jutsu.

What Goes Around

Thanks to my mom and her wonderful pain relieving patches, my tail bone is feeling much better. Though I am feeling a bit under the weather. Probably caught something from the MIL cause she is sick and now the hubby is sick. Ugh. I just hope Raven doesn’t get sick too. She has all ready missed four days in October because of having pneumonia and if she misses four more days then she has to take the exams at the end of the school year which is something she doesn’t want to do. Especially since if you have to take the exams you have an extra week of school to go too.

Tail Bone

Last night I went to take a shower. I did all the normal things one does in the shower. I bathed, washed and conditioned my hair and started to shave my legs like usual. I got the right leg all smoothed and was half way through the left leg when I got a tightening in my tail bone when I reached down. It continued to tighten until it brought tears to my eyes and I wasn’t sure if I could get out of the shower. I contemplated calling the hubby in to help me out but I decided against that and pushed through the pain. I was able to get out of the shower, dried and clothed and made it to the bedroom where I laid down on the bed. After a few minutes the pain was gone, but when I tried to get up the pain came back in a force and there was no way I could push through it this time. I struggled to find a way up without it hurting, and I felt like a turtle that has been over turned on it’s back and after about 20 minutes I was able to get in a sitting position. I told the hubby what had happened and how only half of my left leg was shaved, he offered to shave the other half for me. LOL. As of right now it doesn’t hurt as bad as before unless I try to bend down or am laying down and try to get up. Needless to say I have no idea how this happened and do not want to waste money on a trip to the doctors office. I have been popping Aleve like crazy cause it seems to dull the pain some. If it doesn’t get better in a few days I am going to have to suck it up and go to the doctors. Sigh.

A New Year

Happy belated New Years everybody! Raven and I spent New Years Eve watching Naruto episodes (that where in Japanese with English subtitles), South Park and then season 2 of House. We so know how to party. LOL.

Hopefully this year will be a hell of a lot better then the last.

Also, I have a new layout up so if you come across any bugs or errors I would really appreciate it if y’all would let me know.

Updates

  • On December 14 I went up and took the driving test and I passed! Yeah! So now I am officially able to drive legally on the roads. And I have been trying to get in as much driving as possible. Now I just need my own car.
  • We closed on our house on December 20. Yep. We sold it to an extremely nice couple.
  • We have been living with my mother-in-law since Tuesday December 18th. We will be staying with her until we find another home. I am looking forward to having our own home again.

So, with the move and everything I am sure y’all can understand why I haven’t been posting much. Hopefully things will calm down soon and get back to normal.

Snow Days

They canceled school yesterday and today because we got our first major snow fall and the roads here are covered with about and inch of ice. Raven was more then happy to have two days off of school. She has been spending her time playing Oblivion on the Xbox 360. I was able to talk her into walking down to the post office with me and then playing outside some. She ate some snow, tried to make a snow man (the snow wouldn’t pack good enough to make a big enough ball for the body) and talked me into throwing snow balls out her (she didn’t haven’t to talk to hard). We were out there for about 30 minutes when she decided it was getting too cold and she wanted to finish a quest that she was doing on Oblivion.
