Quarter Pounder with Cheese = 10 Million $

Jeromy Jackson of Morgantown West Virginia (which is about 40 minutes away from me) is suing McDonald’s to the tune of ten million dollars for giving him a Quarter Pounder with Cheese when he specifically asked for no cheese. Well shit. If I knew I could sue restaurants for getting my order wrong I would be one hell of a rich women.

In all seriousness he is supposedly deathly allergic to cheese and said he told about 5 workers at the fast food chain so. What I do not understand is that if he is so damn allergic to cheese why he didn’t check his order before driving off. Hell, that’s what we do and we’re not allergic to anything. We double check the food just to make damn sure it’s what we ordered before heading home to find out that McDonald’s fucked up once again.

So he didn’t check his order before leaving the Star City McDonald’s. Ok, but I do not understand why they drove clear to Clarksburg (which is about 45 minutes away from Star City) before eating their food? Were they worried that there would be no McDonald’s in Clarksburg?

So he didn’t check to make sure there was no cheese before leaving the restaurant. You would then think he would check before devouring it right? Well you would be wrong! See, he couldn’t check it cause they were eating in an extremely dark room. They have an excuse answer for everything!

Jeromy took one bite and started having the reaction so one of his friends immediately called the McDonald’s to let restaurant employees know they had messed up the order. Yep. That’s exactly what I would be doing if I was having an allergic reaction. Only idiots would call an ambulance first *sarcasm*.

Something just doesn’t sit right with me about this case.

Back Home

We made it home Wednesday at about 6pm. We all had fun and I took lots of pictures. Hopefully within a day or two I will have them posted along with a in depth post about what all we did. Right now we are just trying to get back in the groove of things.

Almost Off

Right now we are in the process of getting everything around and packed. I am waiting for one of the bathrooms to become free so I can get in there and get ready. Raven is in the downstairs bathroom and Mike is in the upstairs. So while I am waiting I thought I would make one last post before we head out of here.

I have not a clue what we will be doing up there besides bullshitting with my family. I know Mike and my step-brother Alex will be going fishing Monday night and Dad has something planned for us on Tuesday.

Well, one of the bathrooms is free so I need to go get dressed and ready. See y’all in a few days!

Mutha Uckers

So the new episode of Flight of the Conchords is on tonight on HBO at 10:30 and I am just killing time until it airs. Yep. Just killing time . . . impatiently . . . why the hell does it have to come on at 10:30 . . .

So to kill some time here is a clip from last weeks episode. Brett is such a hottie!

MIA

Tomorrow Mike, Raven and I will be going to Ohio to visit my dad and step-mom. We are planning to come home sometime Wednesday. London will be spending that time down at my mom and Nan’s house who so graciously offered to watch him while we are gone. Jedi will have the house to himself. Hopefully I can get some good photos to show to y’all.

The Thing I Wasn’t Going To Announce Yet

So I told y’all that I was going to fill y’all in with the “thing I am not going to announce yet cause I do not want to jinx it”. So here it is.

Towards the end of June Mike took the carpenter’s apprentice test. The test is not an easy one, especially if you have been out of school for 10 years! Anywho, they graded his paper right in front of him and he passed. They told him that he would be receiving a registered letter in the mail with more info. After waiting un-impatiently for a couple of weeks it finally came. It stated that Mike’s second interview would be on July 24 down in Parkersburg West Virginia. After his interview they would add his test score to his interview score and then add his name to the hiring pool. The spot he would get on the list would depend on his total score (the higher your score the hire you are in the hiring pool). So on July 24 we dropped Raven off at the mother-in-law’s and Mike and I drove the hour and half down to Parkersburg and after getting lost and being 20 minutes late we finally arrive at the Carpenter’s Union office. While Mike was in the interview I sat in the car re-reading Stephen King’s Everything’s Eventual. When Mike came back to the car he informed me that he had to go take a drug test at the health center which was only about 10 minutes away. We had no problems finding the place and after Mike peed in the cup we went home. Two days later Mike gets a call from the carpenter’s union telling him that on Friday 27 he was to go to the Bridgeport branch (which is just a few miles from us) for orientation. He went, had to fill out a bunch of papers and they went over everything that you would think they would at an orientation. On Sunday morning Mike put his two week notice in at Toys R Us. And this Friday he has to go back down to Parkersburg for an OSHA 10 class. We are not for sure when he will actually start working as a Carpenter. That just depends when they call him in. But I am extremely proud of him! Mike also seems pretty happy and excited about the whole thing. He says he really likes the idea off having a skill. And after he completes the apprentice process, which is about 4 years give or take, he will be a journeyman carpenter! Yeah! This will be a career not a job.

I hope this is a step in the right direction. Things started to take a turn for the worst in the fall of 2006. I did not have high hopes. But by the Grace of God things started to look bright in the spring of this year. God willing this will be the right move for us and our family. God willing it will help our family and make it stronger and better then ever. God willing these wounds will continue to heal and we can move past all the pain and hurt and have a long and happy life together. God willing.
